While we think it is reasonable to charge a legitimate amount for accommodation and food many Volunteers are being asked for huge sums of money which benefit agencies and not the Charities they are trying to help. This web site is designed to dispel the myth that you have to pay large sums of money to volunteer.<\/p>\n

We wish to create a web venue where people can share their experiences, good or bad and get in touch with organisations that really need them.<\/p>\n

Volunteering can be a great way to make a difference while experiencing other cultures by giving your time and energy to a worthwhile cause. Large organisations generally take care of you from the minute you arrive at the airport until the day you leave. Administration of these companies eats into the amount you pay to volunteer leaving very little for the charity.<\/p>\n

This website is intended for volunteers who wish to be independent and fend for themselves and are prepared to look and pay for their own accommodation. We take no responsibility for any information listed on this web site. We are merely providing a venue where information is exchanged. Please contact the charity to learn more about it and also verify the information speak to\u00a0 current volunteers\/or contact previous volunteers to find out about their experiences. In other words do your research before you agree to Volunteer.<\/p>\n

Volunteers should post their experiences on this web site giving as much information as possible to future volunteers including whether the experience was good or bad.<\/p>\n

Organisation should post volunteer opportunities on the web site giving full details of their requirements and any costs involved in volunteering. They should also give contact details and, if possible, web site details so that the prospective Volunteer will be able to verify the information.<\/p>\n
